Thailand at the moment is the only unbeaten team in the tournament and stand up on top of the table in front of UAE and China by virtue of their superior net run-rate.
UAE were the early pace-setters in the ICC Women’s Asia Qualifier 2019 that is being held in Bangkok until 27th February but their hopes of winning the match and moving onto the next stage of qualifying for the next two ICC World Cup was put up a strike since they were beaten by 7 wickets by Nepal at TCG.
Simultaneously at AIT Thailand generated it 3 wins out of 3 by beating Hong Kong by the emphatic margin of 82 runs, though soon after in the day China also professed their 3rd victory by defeating Malaysia by 8 wickets. Thailand now are the only unbeaten team in the tournament and stand on top of the table ahead of UAE and China by virtue of their superior net run-rate.
The contest between Nepal and UAE was expected to be one of the best quality matches in the tournament with both teams ranked in the top 16 of the ICC Women’s T20 International rankings. Nepal were identified to hop back again after losing to Thailand in their previous match whereas UAE were planning to continue their record of success since they have won all 3 of their matches so far. Nepal defeat UAE by 6 wickets during the T20 Smash which was held in Bangkok last month so they were confident they could beat them for a second time.
